About Flipside
What is Flipside?
Flipside is a gymnastics app for gymnasts and the families behind them. It keeps every meet score, every new skill and every hour in the gym in one place, so you can see the whole journey, not just the last result.
Who is Flipside for?
Competitive gymnasts and their parents, grandparents and anyone else cheering from the stands. Flipside supports USA Gymnastics Levels 1 through 10 and the Xcel program from Bronze through Sapphire.
Is Flipside a gym?
No. Flipside is an app you use alongside whatever gym your gymnast trains at. It isn't connected to any gymnastics club that shares the Flipside name.
Scores and tracking
How do meet scores get into Flipside?
Automatically. After a meet posts results on the official scoring sites, Flipside pulls them in, usually within minutes. You don't type anything in. You'll see all-around and event scores, season charts, event breakdowns and personal bests.
What else can I track besides scores?
Skills your gymnast has learned, is working on, and is coming up next at their level. Practice hours, with a daily streak and tiers from Chalk Up to Olympian. And season goals for each event that fill in on their own as new scores sync.
What is Skill Spotlight?
Upload a video of a routine and Skill Spotlight uses AI to break it down frame by frame, pointing out likely deductions and giving an estimated score. It's a learning tool to help you understand where points go, not an official judge's score.
What is Flipside Coach?
Flipside Coach is an AI gymnastics expert you can ask anything, any time: what a skill is, how scoring works, what comes next at a new level. It's there to help families understand the sport. For training decisions, your gymnast's coach always knows best.
Family and privacy
Can family members follow along?
Yes. Up to 2 gymnasts per account, and other family members can have their own viewer profiles. The Flip, your home feed, shows milestones, meets and progress, and lets the family react and cheer each other on.
What is ChalkTalk?
ChalkTalk is a community space for gymnastics families to swap tips and share wins. Posts are moderated with AI to keep it kind and gym-friendly.
Is my gymnast's information private?
Yes. Your data is private to your account. A gymnast's profile is only visible to others if you turn on sharing and send someone the link. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from Settings in the app.
Getting Flipside
What devices does Flipside work on?
iPhone and iPad, through the App Store. An Android app is coming soon. There is no web version; Flipside lives on your phone.
How much does Flipside cost?
Flipside is free to use through December 31, 2026, with every feature included and no card required. From January 1, 2027, continued access takes a subscription, with 7 days free for every new account. Plans are shown in the app and purchased through the App Store.
